God declared witchcraft and associated activity forbidden to Christians, because it is evil and of Satan.
One-third of the angels were cast out of heaven to the earth. These fallen angels are demonic spirits with the ability to possess mankind that is friendly to them (does not resist them). I have compiled many of the passages in the Bible relating to witchcraft and sorcery. There are no scriptures in the Bible where God, God’s prophets, apostles, disciples, Jesus, or Christian are shown pandering to witchcraft activity.
All references in scripture regarding witchcraft are warnings from God and warn us to avoid it. The passages and information below illustrate how seriously God deals with witchcraft, divinations, and familiar spirits. Scripture illustrates conclusively that witchcraft, sorcery, and mysticism are completely evil, of Satan, and should be avoided.
II Chronicles 33:6 And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.
Deuteronomy 18:10-12 10There shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
Nahum 3:4-5 4Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the well-favored harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that sells nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts. 5Behold, I am against thee, says the Lord of Hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will show the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
Galatians 5:19-21 19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
I Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry, because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD.
Exodus 22:18-20 18Thou shall not suffer a witch to live. 19Whosoever lies with a beast shall surely be put to death. 20He that sacrifices unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
Leviticus 20:6 and the soul that turns after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
I Samuel 28:3 And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.
II Kings 23:24 Moreover the workers with familiar spirits, and the wizards, and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were spied in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD.
Ezekiel 21:29 Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity shall have an end.
Acts 8:9-11,18-21 9But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: 10To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. 11And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. 18And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, 19Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands; he may receive the Holy Ghost. 20But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. 21Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
Leviticus 19:26-28 26Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood. Ye shall not use enchantment, nor observe times. 27Ye shall not round the corners of your heads; neither shall thou mar the corners of thy beard. 28Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
A real prophet from God is 100% correct on every prophecy. How effective are the false prophets (Witches, Warlocks, & Sorcerers)? The Bible says they are full of lies and do not speak the truth. A false prophet need miss only one prophecy to be considered false.
Daniel 4:7 Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof. (They failed completely)
Daniel 2:27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, show unto the king? (Daniel mocking the sorcerers)
Daniel 2:10-11 10The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, there is not a man upon the earth that can show the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things of any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean. 11And it is a rare thing that the king requires, and there is none other that can show it before the king, except the Gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh. (Sorcerers whining about their lack of ineptness)
Exodus 8:18-19 18And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast. 19Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said. (Pharaohs Magicians inept to duplicate Moses miracle)
Exodus 7:11-13 11Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. 12For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods. 13And he hardened Pharaoh’s heart that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said. (Witchcraft and sorcery were inept against the God of Moses)
Exodus 9:11 And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians. (More ineptness)
“Resist Satan and he will flee from thee”. Those who play with meditation, Eastern mysticism, and any form of spirit, other than God’s spirit, will sure encounter Satan and his demons. Satan will seduce you and possess you. His goal is to deceive anyone he can.
Acts 13:6-11 6And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: 7Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God. 8But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. 9Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, 10And said, O full of all subtlety and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? 11And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
Acts 16:16-18 16And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: 17The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which show unto us the way of salvation. 18And this she did many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. (The evil spirit had to obey the Holy Spirit of God in Paul)
Isaiah 19:3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards. (Those who forsake God will, ultimately in desperation, seek the evil spirits who are inept and can only lead them to destruction)
Isaiah 18:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? For the living to the dead? (Why should anyone seek dead spirits to guide them as opposed to seeking a living God?)
The only effectiveness of a witch, sorcerer, or mystic is their evil persuasion to draw another person into sharing their circle of death they inherit from God’s judgment.
Galatians 3:1-5 1O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? 2This only would I learn of you, received ye the spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3Ye are so foolish! Having begun in the spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? 4Have ye suffered so many things in vain, if it be yet in vain? 5He that ministers the spirit to you, and works miracles among you, “does he do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Micah 5:12 And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thy hand; and thou shall have no more soothsayers.
II Kings 9:22 And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, what peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?
Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Revelations 16:13-14 13And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
Ezekiel 13:6 they have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, the Lord says: and the lord hath not sent them.
Zechariah 10:2 the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
Jeremiah 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, the prophets (false prophets/sorcerers) prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spoke unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of naught, and the deceit of their heart.
Jeremiah 29:8-9 8For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners that are in the midst of you deceive you, neither hark to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed. 9For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, says the LORD.
How can a person tell if a revelation is from a false prophet or liar?
I John 3:1-3 1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2Hereby know ye the spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3and every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is the spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
God will destroy all false prophets, sorcerers, witches, warlocks, wizards, enchanters, etc. in the lake of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Isaiah 49:9-15 9But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thy enchantments. 10For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness, thou hast said, none sees me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thy heart, I am, and none else beside me. 11Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shall not know from whence it rises: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shall not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shall not know.
12Stand now with thy enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast labored from thy youth; if so be thou shall be able to profit, if so be thou may prevail. 13Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. 14Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it. 15Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast labored, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.

Isaiah 44:24-25 24Thus says the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that made all things; that stretched forth the heavens alone; that spreads abroad the earth by myself; 25That frustrates the tokens of the liars, and makes diviners mad; that turns wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolish.

Will you hunt the souls of my people, and keep yourselves alive? 19And will you profane me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, killing people who should not die, and keeping people alive who should not live, by your lying to my people who listen to lies?”
